Chicago photographer Roark Johnson has resumed his Stranger A Day project. It is must see photography. His ability to get strangers to stop in their tracks while he puts the image down on his 8x10 view camera is unbelievable. The subjects come to life and seem to reveal an inner peace not expected from such an unexpected encounter. And the prints from the 8x10 film are amazing!
Chapter one of this project covered the calendar year of 2004. See that work here.
Good luck Roark on go around 2. Thank you for sharing!
This one will be a nightmare for Gabe Greenberg ;)
Congratulations, again, for your work.
I sure hope this guy is kissing his wife!
Yes ... You can tell he's her husband ...Don't you recognize domestic bliss!!!!!!!
i love the warmth of this image, it immediatly brought a smile to my face.
I love the rougness of this: the blur, the focus, the grain, the off-putting composition. The hat's logo facing us is great and that background, especially the neon, makes for a sort of comic-book glow, like flying sparks in the background.
romantic
its interesting though that at first I am not 100% sure they are in the train or in a station... umm. I would say definitely on a station but still especially on the right bottom corner it really looks like the interior of a subway car.
Great show anyways Travis. Hope the show went well.
