I opened it and instantly said WOW. The women looks so sad it breaks my heart. I hope whatever is going on with her is not terrible and I'm glad that she is being comforted. It is a great photo Travis! Your emotional eye is stunning.

Sherry,
Travis does have a keen eye.
But you may want to calibrate your monitor, or at least set it a bit brighter. You'd then see that the woman's face is placid. Her eyes are closed and she's gently smiling.
Where do you get, heartbreakingly sad?

I don't see a smile, she looks sad to me. The picture is beautiful.

I don't see a smile either. I do see one on his face though..slightly. maybe. I don't know what to make of this either, but his hand isn't wrapped fully around her shoulder...perhaps caught in the moment of a gesture.
travis, i'm always amazed by how much conversation your photos spark.
the perspective of this shot is cool. it looks like the white haired guy is in a different row of seats - further back - but that's (has to be an illusion). That is a caring moment, amazing capture.
The Tattoo was the eye catcher but when you look longer you see a whole story caught in this moment. This picture has a sad feeling over it, like many others already noted. Makes you curious about the whole story behind this, and that's why this makes for such a good picture.

Do you know this person? http://www.art-dept.com/artists/davidson/index.html
We hope that the "One Love" declared on the neck tattoo was for this woman - who looks at least momentarily sad to me, given the pursed lips.
The slicked hair, the neck tattoo, you would think this was a pretty tough guy, but caught in a moment of tenderness.
The meditative gentleman in the back, with that white, white immaculate hair is also an important part of the picture.
As always, bravo, Travis.

Great clarity and emotional depth. 'One Love' cements it.

An emotional and touching photograph.
It works perfectly. Excellent picture.
