I enjoy your photoblog and have it bookmarked. Taking photos in the subway is very hard to me, so enclosed it makes it tough and you bring variety to it. I live in Park Slope also but rarely ever leave so all my photos are taken in Park Slope!
She's on her way to work, thinking "Same shit, different day." Love it, and always astounded when you can point a camera right at someone who is looking right at you.
I love her! You can imagine she's thinking why didn't I take today off!
With the lighting this looks like some tunnel to a secret world or something.Like a Stephen King movie.I have a big imagination! Great shot.Happy New Year & all the best to you in 2007.

Very interesting! By keeping so much ceiling in the photo, the picture conveys oppression--as though there is heaviness above the horizontal line of the tunnel's arc, weighting the people. The expression on the woman's face one of resignation--
This was the first time I saw your site. This image jumped at me from the vfxy daily mosaic - such an incredible pose! But I've been through much of your archives since, and I must say that I find it truly inspiritional. I've made it my New Year's resolution to try as much subway photography as I can here in Toronto. I'm bumping up quickly against the limits of my current small camera, though. It's great to see what can be achieved with the right equipment and the right talent, though. Cheers on an amazing body of work!
So today you're being Edvard Munch, only happier.

Love the expression.
Nice wok, as usual.

Another shot worthy of a caption competition.
