Very nice. I wish the taller gentleman were looking away though. Then there would be a single eyeball to focus on. That being the eyeball of the older gentleman staring right back at us! Still a great shot.

I don't think he's mad - he's just tall. Acutally, he looks like he's going to cry when he gets home. I'd be glad if I was tall so I could hold on in crowds. On another note, this picture is another example of why I think the Olympics would have been cool in NYC; Everyone is here already, and we have the whole peace thing down pretty good.

P.S. The older guy isn't looking at the camera. He's looking at the girl.

P.P.S. - New York today was ranked in the list of Dangerous Cities as a distant #226 in the US...making us safer than the mean streets of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Raleigh, North Carolina and Killeen, Texas.
That girl is smiling because she knows she's better off than in the shady lanes of Everett, Washington by a good 138 spots.
Here's our company, from best to less best:
143. West Covina, Calif.
144. Hampton, Va.
145. New York City (where the girls are pretty)
146. Denton, Texas
147. Palm Bay, Fla.
148. Sioux City, Iowa
149. Sioux Falls, S.D.
I would love to have seen you shoot this to know exactly where you were in poximity to the three of them. Great shot!!

close enough that the moment before this was taken my hand was second from the top.
Thanks Green Point, that's hilarious!

A fascinating shot. So dynamic that I thought the monitor had moved!
How does it get that energetic? It's a mad-house: Hands grabbing, man looking, blurred girl to the left, forest of poles behind, angle of tall guy's arm, coats piling in on the right, blare of light on left and ceiling light receding... What a mix!
The i-pod girl is obviously the centre: calm, neutral, contained, pretty. The world is spinning 'round her. It's all motion 'cept the two guys. The white guy is a bit scary. He's grabbing with both hands and eyes; good thing the pole is bolted down or he'd take it with him. The black guy looks sad, as GP said. But it's that resigned look that says, "I hope it gets better. It might."
It might.

I just noticed the small version above the comments. It's just as good small. Even more 'see-able'.

Great shot! Congratulations! In Lisbon´s subway it´s impossible to take a picture like this one without the person say something really bad to the photographer. People in NY seems more confortable about this situation, more natural...maybe one day!
one guy looks a little pissed to be photographed!

the really fascinating thing is, that this pic just caught a moment.
Only a second later everything will be different.
And thats not allways so.
