I've been having some work done on the old website the last couple of weeks. A couple of additions. The About page now contains a list of links where I've been interviewed or profiled. Of particular fun is the Norwegian audio interview. It's a little tricky to navigate if you don't speak the language. First click on the 7th ave link. When the train stops in the station click and drag the photographer drawing into the car through the doors. Once the train leaves the station roll your mouse over the drawing to hear me ramble on like a fool.
Another cool change: I've added a link in the Archive page for an option to see ALL the thumbnails at once. As of today, that's 573 images. I think this is particularly fun.
That's it for now. Look for more fun in the near future.
Thanks for stopping by. Travis

Aw.How Cute.
It's like saying goodbye but on a happy note.
Wow. I simply love this. Oh to be young again.
My favorite of yours in a long time.
Excellent shot. Everything is very right here.
I agree, this is an excellent capture.
Congrats on all that you've been busy with! Almost 600 images is quite impressive, as well. Love today's shot!
stunning
I'm so glad the war is over
This is a telling character study. No love is perfectly balanced and mutual, and my guess is we are seeing a thoroughly smitten young woman impulsively planting one on a relatively cool customer.
We could continue the story a number of ways. Does he go home to his lonely apartment and realize he feels the same way about her? Is he struggling to figure out how to tell her just doesn't feel the same way she does? Does she detect his coolness, and does this drive her to distraction, or willy-nilly, pull the plug on her passion. Is this the last kiss, or the first kiss?
Travis, I know you love people because you see them so well. Thanks again.
it's so emotional.. I like it very much
David - I love your comment and analysis of the possible "story" behind this photo. You're right - her body language is enthusiastic and unrestrained and he is turning slightly away with elbows back. Perhaps he's embarassed by public displays of affection. I remember another of Travis' photos -

It's the END of January and this guy is sitting on the subway with a little Christmas tree. I still think I need to write a short story based on this photo. Could I compose a tale something on the order of "The Gift of the Magi?"? There are so many unanswered questions in this image it drives me nuts!!
Umm... maybe the fella just doesn't see the need to match her carefree exuberance with eyes passionately(?) closed and a locking embrace while standing a bit close to the edge of the platform as several tons of metal in the guise of a subway train approaches.
His cool demeanor (judiciousness) could have very well been what kept Travis' camera from capturing a rather unfortunate -- OOPS!!!! After all, tragic mishaps and mis-steps happen everyday in the Big Apple. It's usually always better not being that type of statistic. Unless of course "the bell tolls" because it's your time and Heaven awaits.
:-))
More one great blog of photography...

there's something ominous about this...I think it's her hands...
What a great shot! Love underground! You do nice work, Travis! We need more pictures like this to remind us that there are still nice things going on in the world.I know it put a smile on my face.
Well captured, beautiful shot.
You always do so well at capturing the human condition. This is an amazing shot.
My favorite image on your site. What a great story in this shot. It's nice to find a site that has people regularly presented.
