Great article in Thursday's NY Times about traffic congestion and alternatives for NYC. Especially "Congestion Pricing". Anyone out there has Bloomberg's ear please tell him this is his opportunity to really make his mark on the City.
I also forgot to mention that Raul Gutierrez of mexicanpictures.com is having an exhibit open this evening in Brooklyn at the Nelson Hancock Gallery. I'll be there early. Raul's work is beautiful and goes far beyond what one thinks of as travel photography. It's great stuff!

Looks like someone's gonna miss their train!
How did you get your subject so focused and the background blurred in this photo?
Love it!
what a great shot. You've really instilled some life and energy into the shot. well done.
Wonderful picture, Travis. I thinkit works especially well because the man is not in focus. His upper body is soft and his running legs are even more blurred. But not as much as the background. super.
Il va l'avoir ;o)
beautiful- the ballet of the city.
Wow! Amazing! I love it! This is a great example about what I love about your work--you've captured a simple, recognizable moment in a beautiful picture.
cool. fantastic motion blur effect!
Awesome.
I've been using my wife's 24mm lens lately and it seems to produce some dramatics when using a slow shutter speed. As with all my images there is no photoshop magic here. My favorite part of the photo, the way the railing trails off behind him like a comic book vroooooom!
Superb!
Excellent! This photo speaks volumes.
i can only repeat what others said "the ballet of the city"
swoosh ... and the moment is gone....
if it was not for this nice shot!
Love it... all you pictures speak volumes of the subject matter... This is a scene that is seen by all on the underground every day, your picture capture the essence of the moment perfectly.
I love the railing effect also. It's important that photos make people stop and look at their world differently - - - saying to themselves, "I never took the time to stop and really look at that commuter/train/tree/cow".
That picture is sweet and a very true account of travel on the NYC Subways.
Very cool image. Love it!
