Did you actually take this picture while just sitting across from this guy? If so, I really, really don't understand how you can just pull a camera up to peoples faces like that.
Brilliant! I love the heavy chain, and his distorted reflection to the left. He looks very peaceful. But! The woman on the right is wonderful - her posture, of cutting off from everything else is really powerful. And I love the detail of her fingers, and the light on her fingernails. And the fact that they're both wearing dark clothes, and have dark hair, makes us focus is even more on them, their faces and postures.
I really enjoy your photos and have learned so much about NYC or any large city through them. What I love about this one, and so many of them, is that people generally seem to have their masks off in them and their true humanity shows through.
