  1. Wow, no people!

  2. I really like the composition here, Travis. Beautiful.

  3. This one is absolutely fantastic, a great abstract. You got an eye.

  4. As per my promise to Maxwell - a comment on the graffiti depicted in this photo. The blacklight effect amplifies the "in your face" aspect of this graffiti. I think that living in a place where this was pervasive - on every surface - would be upsetting on more than one level.

I live in a very rural setting, and although I can't say it isn't occasionally a problem - it is very rare. If you're working in a farm field and look across the perfect rows of corn to see a train passing by - literally covered in graffiti - top to bottom - every surface except the engines - it feels like a slap in the face! Although some of the "work" appears to reflect a level of talent, it's a crime )lieterally and figuratively) to cover someone else's property.

I would imagine that people in the big city are really angry about his problem.

  5. Aw shooot! You shoulda been here in the seventies. This ain't nothin'!

Seriously, graffiti is not so pervasive now at all. I (emphatically!) do not consider it art -- but Travis's photo has certainly raised it to that level. So who's to say?

  6. my eye gets trapped in the bright white area, nice try though

  7. Like THE blue and the light in the background

  8. yes. for the trains in the farm field is called freight graffiti. most of its is actually good. as for the graffiti in this picture the tag was actually done with an etch bath, which cannot be removed anyway. because its chemically etched in the window. the only way to remove this is to completely remove the window and replace it with a new one. this has become a problem recently in nyc subways because of the cost of window replacement. but this chemical is highly dangerous. if it was to touch your skin it will burn thru your skin and down to the tissue. if a little kid were to touch the '"etched" tag and was to pick his nose later on, the outcome will not be pretty. just dropping a lil info behind this. great flick btw.
