This is an interesting one. There don't seem to be any tell-tale New York signs about it. This can be a subway in Tokyo, or Montreal, or just about anywhere. Everyone seems to be absorbed into his own world. Even the couple in focus don't seem to be reading "together." (This is not negative, BTW, it just is.) The whole thing is so "clean" -- antiseptic, flourescent. The more I look at it, the more intriguing it becomes.

This has been a very hard image to make. I've been trying to find this moment for a while. There was always someone standing or some other distraction in the image. I'm glad it works for you. T
It's intersesting watching other people when travelling on trains. Thanks for sharing..cheers :)

re "I've been trying to find this moment for a while": can you elaborate? Just curious.

It's a little hard to explain. But to me this image looks like they are not even on a subway car. Mostly because everyone is sitting. They could be on park benches somewhere, or waiting at a doctors office. When I've seen these situations in the past it was never easy to find a focus for your eye. The frame never seemed right. This couple helped give the moment another layer that the scene needed. Does that make sense?
