4 Train ~ Grand Central ~ 6:30pm

Nothing makes the city seem smaller than when you run into a friend on a subway platform. What did it take for your schedules to line up so perfectly?

  1. your caption is exactly what i was thinking - in a city this big, what all needs to be aligned for this moment to happen. and all the while, life goes on around you.

  2. This is a great blog. Just found it on vfxy. I'll definitely be visiting regularly.

  3. Fantastic blog! F A N T A S T I C ! :)

  4. Great image. I love your pictures.

  5. I dont think I would spot things like this if I was on the subway now. You just have a great eye for how the system and the people work to see what is going on around you. You capture wonderful moments in time.

  6. Interesting shot, these two "old friends" sandwiched in between two people who seem to be functioning on automatic pilot. Of course, those two old friends might have had those same blank expressions on their faces until they happened to bump into each other as those subway doors opened. Now wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that the man and woman staring blankly into space also know one another? And will have the same type of reaction once they come face to face?

But I digress. And I love your photos for giving me that opportunity.

  7. apparently the guy on the right isn't in as good as a mood as the other commuters.

  8. I haven't been visiting here for a few days. Whoa...lots of studying. But, I'm back!!

"Make sure I see you at church this Sunday, Trevor." "Sure thing...tell the wifey 'Hi' for me, will ya?"

It's so good to run in to someone you haven't seen for a while. Always that great feeling. (Unless it's your parole officer or vindictive ex-girlfriend.)

I need not say, Travis... I know you already know I think its GREAT!

  9. Fantastic, great street photo. You had to be really fast to capture the moment. Congratulatioins.

  10. I've had a similar experience, not once, but twice, in which the one person in the whole city who I needed to avoid (i.e. people that I just told I would be unavailable for a date, and who didn't live/work near the train I was taking) happens to be the person sitting right across from me in the train. What are the chances of that? Yes, karma... and also, NY is really a small town.... I wish you were there to capture the horror on my face!!!

  11. Is that "Uncle Phil" from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air?
