Trains tomorrow! And not a minute too soon. I thought I was going to be getting into shape with all this exercise.
After grinding my way over the Manhattan Bridge I found myself waiting to cross back under the bridge with at least a dozen other riders. As we waited for the traffic to clear the old familiar rumble of an N train could be heard coming up onto the bridge. When the train came into site a cheer went up from everyone standing on the corner. We enjoyed the moment with each other for just a minute and then we all started the long trek up Jay Street and back onto the packed avenues of Brooklyn.
Hurrah, you're back in business. One of my earliest television memories is of Mike Quill during transit strikes of long ago. His was the first Irish accent I'd ever heard at my then tender age and it facsinated me. It probably awakened some atavistic ancestral memory. Good luck in the commute!
I have an irish accent :)
You must be pleased that things will be back to normal again, and just in time for christmas.
And on that note - I hope you have a very merry christmas!
Take care.
