  1. i've been woefully absent on the comments here, but i _had_ to click on this one to do so. awesome. what perfect [and lucky] framing here coming down the stairs. the light from above awaiting him at the foot of the stairs and catching the particles of who knows what on the way down completes it for me.

  2. I agree the framing and lighting is great.

  3. Stunning photo! It's like he's involved in a plot against the world, and he's coming down the stairs to the underground in his wall street attire to finally take it all down. He's a man with a mission, that's for sure. :)

Great stuff, beautiful light, and the bars in front are the icing on the cake - really both separates you from and draws you closer to the subject.

  4. Certainly one of my top twenty favorites. He looks very uncertain of what is going on.

  5. great photo. i feel like i'm right there on the platform. i love the lighting and the color of the stairs.

  6. I am in awe yet again of your ability to work in the subway lighting. Do you process through photoshop? I am never able to capture a face when the subject is backlit. It seems there's enough light streaming from the subway to uplight his face.

As you near the end of your "mental year" of express train, I need to take the time to review the archives in their entirely. If only for myself, and to fill in the blanks before I started to check daily, my intention is to compile my own list of top ten images. I will guarantee they probably won't be the 10 most technically excellent photos, because the subject matter and hidden stories intrigue me so much more than the other. But remember, the anthropologist is more interested in the hidden story in the evidence.

  7. This one's a good strong shot; for me, it's the backlighting and the framing by iron fencing.

  8. Great light and framing, a reallly unique moment to capture.

  9. Thanks, thanks and thanks.

  10. The light is beautiful. Great shot.

  11. Awesome. Wow.

  12. Brilliant, Travis. This is the best since... since the one of the man's reflection off the subway wall.

    Nice work.

    your loyal,

    bc

  13. Nice...REAL NICE...Especially noticing the bars in the foreground. Doesnt distract from the image, but tell a subtle story of this guy (possibly CIA or Secret Service) coming for a captured prisoner within the Subway. See how he's reaching for something by his waist, probably a pistol to command the prisoner. Nice.

  14. Great capture!

  15. This is an awesome pic. If u haven't already done so, you should try and sell some of your work.
