Very good use of framing the shot with the silhouette of the pipes. This and another recent shot (the young woman striding in a hurry) bring to mind some thoughts about the aesthetics of the subway. Again the ubiquitous white tile. But in these two images we see something surprising. Above the utilitarian black and white tile we see a fanciful mosaic, something out of Pompeii. The elements seem bizarre to anyone with a design sense. Run-of-the-mill tile, fanciful mosaics, dirty floors, framed subway maps and other elements create a schizophrenic hodge podge. A designer dare not stop and try to make sense out of it...it just IS.
The bags jump out of the image. He looks done in... like a lot of your subjects.
Interesting
how you've framed and segmented your subject.
I don't think he'd look so doomed without the drama of those lines--
Nicely framed with the bars. And like Roch said, he certainly does look done in.

Depressing, like so many of these pics!
