I like this shot. The woman leaning over clearly does not ride the route very often, while the other woman in front of her seems to be a regular commuter.
Fine shot! Placing your subject so high and right in the image works so beautifully with the secondary subject - the map. I think where the perfection comes in is the lady trying very hard to ignore the map reader. Its a shame that the shopping bag had to intrude into this world, but hey the bag is just another part of the journey.

Ah, yes, I've often wondered if there isn't some better place to out the map! I love the blank stare - that attempt to create privacy where there isn't any.

No flash. I look at Bruce Davidson's images on the subway with a flash and can't imagine how he did it.
