When I worked for a university in the village, and was living in Park Slope, I'd travel to and from Broadway/Lafayette every day. I was actually just in the station last week for the first time in ages. So when I saw the location in bloglines I immediately had to check this out.
I wasn't let down.
You've caught some marvelous images on your daily commute, but this has to stand among the best I have ever seen from you. It is simply iconic.
I'm a New Yorker too - although one could say I'm Brooklyn based!
Looking for photo-blogs from NYC, I stumble upon yours - I think I spent more then an hour just now rapidly clicking through your photos; an endless slideshow of faces and figures, silent voices and souls. I can't stress how well you've managed to capture the very essense of our subway, especially with this photograph. It used to be me - ten years ago, I know the crumpled map and the ' did I miss my station? ' gaze so well.
I ride the subway at least once a week - I always see faces by which I am captivated and enthralled, and yet, I can never get myself to raise the camera. A big black Nikon right in their face, I don't know. What will they do when they see? Will they understand? Best I've done so far is shoot from the hip with remote - I'm a little ashamed of that.
i can feel the sense of being lost in that face. searching for a station name.
Classic shot! The look the crumpled map, great stuff.
Fantastic.

Travis, you've done a fine job!
looks like she just missed her stop.
It looks like she's in an aquarium! Weird!
Looks like she is desperately trying to look around the corner and see if this is the right stop. Cool shot.
The graffiti really adds to the shot
This is my favorite from you. Classic indeed.
Great capture! Lost in the subway?
