  1. Great - and so not artificial. I love the genuine nature of your work.

  2. I love how this guy is totally uninterested in whatever is clearly quite interesting.

  3. dont ya get bored taking pictures around the same place..i.e the subway? youve established that you can take pics in the subway...would love to see your pics of the outside world ya know.

  4. Oh, Zach. Don't you get it? He is photographing the world. This is what he sees on a daily basis and it's fabulous. Yes, he leaves the subway, but the subway has its own appeal, its own flavour, and its own beauty. And that's what he chooses to share with us.

Yet another fabulous shot. It's a hopeful shot, it seems.

  5. Businessmen who seem to be tight, and unrestricted children. It is an image of an excellent comparison. I love your photographs.

  6. gute Fotos! Gratuliere sehr, hoffe kann auch mal so was zuwege bringen.
Jedenfalls alles Gute und weiter so!
Freu mich auf dein nächstes Bild............
    It is great :-)

  7. Zach that is an interesting issue you raise. I like to think this site is not so much about my photography skills but about an experience. (I don't really think you'd be all that interested in photos of my kids anyways.) As Nick pointed out I think you would be hard pressed to find so many aspects of humanity pressed into one place, at one time, day in and day out. There is something else that I've been thinking about lately also. And that is that some viewers are undoubtedly getting bored with the story. And that's were it gets interesting. And why I shall continue and the bored should continue to watch. As a voyeur you can turn off the “show” anytime. As a commuter we may get bored but we still have to get on the train every day. So even if you do get tired of the story, but you feel like you're interested in New York City then I propose this is your first true New York City experience. The most fascinating experiences can become mundane, painfully so. Why do you think the mood of so many of my images is similar? You spend 90 minutes each day clanging through dark, dirty, polluted tunnels and let's see how smily you are. Which is why every smile you see on this site is a triumph. There are days when I get on the train and I tell myself I'm not shooting today. But if your eyes are open though there is always a scene that demands to be recorded. Besides trees without leaves, clouds, and babies, the subway is probably one of the most photographed places on the planet. There is a reason for that. Thanks for all the great comments, even yours Zach. (anyone speak German?)

  8. Love that babblefish:
"Good photos! Would congratulate very, would hope can also once so what zuwege bring. In any case all goods and further so! Please me on your next Bild........... "

    Another great photo!

  11. When I was a kid riding the trains above ground, the adults usually got up their window seats for us...
