High over the streets of Brooklyn signs of Spring. The sun is now still out when I'm coming home. How nice is that?!
One of my images has been posted on the home page for The Subway Chronicles, a very wonderful site for writings and ruminations on the NYC Subway. www.thesubwaychronicles.com
I miss the action in the picture. But I surely love the reflected light and glow here!
I hope the Kentile sign isn't removed as threatened. Do you remember the beautiful rich red Goya Foods sign that was replaced with that wimpy Pathmark one? At any rate, I love the low sun reflected on the side of the train.
Ah, a nice change from the depths of the subway. A little more detail would be nice, but unless you contract the power to bring the sun back up for you when you want to take photos (let me know if you do!), not much you can do about it.
Hiya!
Great blog!
I've heard that authorities are asking to ban photography in the NYC subway system.
How is that going to affect you?
Why would they want to ban photos in the subway?
they want to ban photography in the subway due to the ambiguous "security reasons" which is complete and utter BS. us NYC photo junkies are fighting them, let's hope it works.
love this shot of the G train all glowing. i love that stretch between carroll and 4th ave on the F/G line. it's nice to go outdoors for a little bit and, now in the evenings, see the sun set. so calming and enjoyable.
I don't know what it is about the light, but the dimpled texture that gets highlighted makes this seem almost miniature in scale (well, to me at least). Nice stuff!
~I/eye like the last gasp of sun hitting the side of the train, a fine detail for the viewer to pick up on~
great idea! cool shots!
You have a great eye - the depth of the subway interiors draws me in. The colors, the people so unveiled in their boredom, the lovers so enraptured, the children so curious. This makes me miss NYC! Did I just write that? The subway? Well anyway, I love your photos. I see my old hood Carrol Gardens - beautiful image though the rainy window.I used to see the Kentile sign from my apartment- would surely miss it if it were removed. But I live with trees, rivers & mountains now. Been homesick for NYC lately. My good friend Mary P sent your website to me... I'll be visiting often.
Pretty shot! I like how the reflection makes it look like the subway is made out of aluminum foil.
I can't believe you actually got a picture of the G train! It is so infrequent, I consider it the ghost train when I see it go by when I'm stuck on the Gowanas.
Wowzers. It's photos like this that remind me of, and make me revel in, the gloriousness of the urban environment.
