D Train ~ Manhattan bound ~ 8:10am

I have many images that capture a person in an unfortunate moment or unnatural expression. I never post those images if I feel I'm being unfair or untrue to a personality. That is not the case here. She was very comfortable with herself. It was the rest of us that we're a little unsure.

  1. great catch
    wonderfully photographed
    great image

  2. Nice pic ;-) And the look of the girl on the right...

  3. It looks as though she's wiping her face with a piece of potato :-)

  4. this is a rare image - ignore the women on the left and focus on the tiredness of the two in the middle; the forlornness of the woman on the right (along wth the background out-of-focus pod-boy complimenting her stance). It's enough to make you weep at the urban isolation and rattling dispair. Great stuff! (if you know what I mean)

  5. LOL

  6. it annoys me when women put on makeup on the train. my mother considers it inherently low-class to groom yourself in public.. and i can't help but agree. like mother like daughter :)

  7. I hope the makeup woman sees this! It's great! And if she's as comfortable with herself as you say, she should get a kick out of seeing her face contortions for the perspective of others and have a good laugh. I like the tilted shot too!

  8. Now this one's peculiar. ;)

Great one, and I enjoyed reading C's comment.

  9. A great juxtaposition here. An act of vanity sabotaged by the very act. Great moment captured.

  10. Wow. This is again a fantastic picture.
I am amazed how you succeed to take those pictures.
You need to be quick but your pictures are still technically perfect.
    I am jealous !

  11. good heavens, that's a fright. great shot.

  12. I wish I had my rechargable electric razor; I would just love to shave my facial stubble

  13. Man, your stuff is just fantastic!! You capture the humour, boredom, and hustle/bustle of subway movement. You should apply for a grant to go to different subways around the world and do the same thing--like in Moscow, London, Rio, and Tokyo. Go to a publisher and get them to do a book.
