Lexington ave exit at 42nd st ~ 9:55am

As the train pulls into the station and unloads, the escaltaros fill up. When the last passenger gets to the top, they again sit empty, waiting for the next heard of office workers.

  1. A lot of the comments on there are of the sort "your photographs make me wish i lived in new york city, it's such a wonderful beautiful place".
But poverty, homelessness, and filth are a big part of riding the NYC public transportation.

  2. A $2 metrocard is cheaper than a broadway show and most often, more entertaining. You either love ridin the trains or hate it, and I have loved it my whole life. There is always something new to see or hear. In the end, it's an experience..unless you choose to fall asleep for the duration of your trip. =)

Travis, glad to see you didn't spend too much time dealing with the NYPD this morning. =)~

  3. Someone needs to give that subway a good scrubbin.

  4. And the moral of the story - nobody uses the stairs...!

  5. if you blur your vision a bit it looks like they're going down.
    i dig.

  6. Great shot, Frisky Pics has a similar one taken over in the UK, I'll have to see if I can dig out a link!

  7. This reminds me of the subway escalators in Silent Hill 4. Just thought I'd point that out.
