I've been pretty strapped for time lately so I apologize that I've not been able to respond to emails. I read every one and take to heart suggestions and comments. For instance I was reminded the other day to think big picture. Try and capture the 5 senses of subway riding. That's a challenge. Luckily I get to try twice a day....
An eerie feel to this one... chaotic yet so smooth and flowing. The woman stepping through... almost into another dimension.
Another great shot ! Congratulations Travis.
It reminds me one of our great citizen work : Georges De La Tour. A great artist of the 17th century. He'd created an artistic style : The Sfumato (le clair obscur). A game between light and dark, where the light source was always masked.
You just add your style and a kind of movment.
A bientôt.
I really like this one, and would agree with Chris - there's an almost ethereal feel to this shot as though she's about to cross some sort of other-worldly boundary.
Lately I've been thinking a lot about the emotional experience of riding the subway. How to relate that sense of caos and calm, ear splitting screaches and the silence when sitting on a full car stopped between stations. It's like unraveling an onion. Thanks Arno, that's a wonderful compliment!
another beautifull image. i keep on looking and they keep on coming. great. Im a fan...
:)
The rat race, huh? Looks more like the greyhound's view just as he catches glimpse of the rabbit through the opening gate.
Nice capture. A little blurry for me though Travis...would have like to see it a bit sharper like some of your others. Nice blog. Cheers.
beautiful photo. love the lighting and movement from the blur. fantastic.
sweet shot...-e
