Here's an extra from this week. Transfering from the F to the 7 we were greeted by packs of frustrated commuters headed our way. Turns out due to a "smoke" condition there was no 7 train service. That's a big deal. Especially if you live in Queens. This guy was taking it all in stride. Of course that was easy for him, he wasn't standing 10 deep on a cold outdoor platform in Queens. Down on the platform it was very surreal. Two trains were sitting with their lights out and no one around, just this voice coming over the intercom talking to no one. I'll post one of those images when my computer decides to work again.
Nice composition, Very harmonious colors with a good contrast. The man give some life on this desert place. I like the two perspective. Well this shot is very nice.

Absolutely sublime :) Makes me miss NYC all the more. Can I ask if you ever feel either self conscious or even fearful of pulling out a rather pricey piece of equipment to take these shots? Having grown up in the city and having had my fair share of "encounters" I just wondered.
I don't usually think about it. I have wondered though if I could suffeciently annoy someone that they might want to give me a scare and push me toward the tracks. My work attire is someup dressy so I think I don't come across as a tourist which might help keep me out of trouble. Thanks for the wonderful comments!
It's amazing that the MTA is even contemplating a ban on photography in the subway. What a loss for people who love to chronicle both the rich life of the subway system and the visually interesting place that it is.
