Flashback Thursdays. I kept waiting for the film crew to step out from behind the column. I never mind giving money when I see kids street dancing on the train. It's hard, physical work. I'm not sure what is more impressive, their moves or just daring to put to their hands on the floor. For that alone they get paid. The little guy with the box almost lost his shorts when he scampered out of the car racing to the next one before he got left on the platform.
Great shot. Especially as a big fan of the arts in subways, this picture is absolutely "money"! Awesome...
I didn't know they made boom boxes that big any more.
The only thing I miss about my time in NY is the F train into Brooklyn. Thanks for the flashback.
I really admire your photoblog.
superb image, i didn't see anything like this when i was in nyc, only in grand central anyway. would have loved to.

They still make boom boxes that big? How many batteries does that baby take? I miss the NYC subways, but rather resented the "performance art." They took up valuable floor space diring the communte. But this is a fabulous photograph.
Wow! Action photography in the subway. This is cool. There used to be a great sax player on the F train...I haven't seen him in a while. I've actually misseed my stop at times, because I wanted to hear the rest of the piece.
On another note - just yesterday I was giving a friend of mine a "tour" of your website. She was very impressed.
Fantastic picture! I agree that they deserve to be paid both for the physical work and for the hands on the floor.
wellcomposed sharp and crisp handheld lovlight picture with actionmovement vivid colours well-disposed whitebalance great light no flash how does he do it- Travis? Impressive.
